Obama Speech Cleared

An investigation into a speech by Barack Obama to the national convention of the United Church of Christ was not a violation of IRS rules for tax-exempt organizations. The Democratic presidential addressed the denomination’s convention in Hartford during June of last year. The agency says UCC had been careful to avoid the appearance that Obama was giving a political speech.
