The man who put together the Good News Bible has died. Robert Bratcher passed away Saturday in Chapel Hill, North Carolina at the age of 90. The New Testament translator was the son of a Southern Baptist missionary and worked with the American Bible Society. First issued in 1966 as Good News for Modern Man, the complete Bible was published in 1976 under the name the Good News Bible, also known as Today's English Version.
