How Much is a Trillion?

Congressional leaders are throwing around big numbers when discussing the stimulus package under debate. One version of the bill calls for spending $917 billion. Nearly a trillion dollars. How much money is that?

We could spend one million dollars every day since the day Jesus was born and we would still not have one trillion dollars. Jesus was born about 2012 years ago. 2012 x 365.2 = 734,782.4. So if we spent one million dollars every day since the day Jesus was born, we'd have spent $734,782,400,000 or almost 735 billon dollars.

I enjoy your blog for quick hits on the news and the Church.

Do you have this link on the Chronicle? If so, would you mind sending that to me at hiscrivener@yahoo.com.

I don't know if you have noticed, but I like to your site on "The Writing on the Wall."

Thanks for what you do.

Peace,
