Atheism and IQ

A professor of psychology in Ireland claims he can tell how likely you are to be an atheist - by knowing your IQ. Richard Lynn of the University of Ulster says the higher the IQ, the more likely a person will deny the existence of God. Lynn says he studied atheists in 137 countries to come up with his theory. Details will be published in the journal Intelligence. Other papers by Lynn have linked intelligence with race and sex.

imagine that. makes sense since all the baptists and evangelicals i've ever known have been some of the dumbest people.

here's what i dont get. evangelicals say the believe the bible should be taken literally word for word. that it is word for word what god said. now is that the modern(or american) english version? or is it the latin version that the english one is translated from? or is it the the individual gospels written in their native tounge before the catholic priests assembled them into what we now call the bible. and what about the other gospels that the priests voted on not including in the finished product? are they to be taken as literal interpretations of gods word? and how does an intelligent person truely believe that there is nothing lost in translation from aramaic to arabic to hebrew to roman to latin to old english to modern english? oh thats right, im talking about evangelicals, nuff said.

and i know you talking in tounges, holy rollers will chastise me and say something about how it makes you happy im going to burn in hell. im a christian. i believe in the bible, the word of the lord. i am smart enough to know the reality of the book and know that it is the message that is important, and not to get hung up on every little word.

and in case anyone does feel like chastising me. remember i believe it says something to this in the bible. like luke 6:37 judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven; and matthew 7:1 judge not, that ye be not judged; and john 8:7 he that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone.
