Lynyrd Skynyrd Member Dies

Onetime Lynyrd Skynyrd keyboardist Billy Powell is dead. He passed away at his Florida home, apparently from a heart attack. Powell played in the contemporary Christian music band called Vision in the mid-80’s and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2006. He took part in Lynyrd Skynyrd reunion tours in recent years.

There are now only two members of the band still alive who survived the 1977 plane crash that claimed the lives of three members and the road manager. Two other members passed away in recent years of other causes.
