Moment of Silence Struck Down
Atheist and talk show host Rob Sherman has won a lawsuit designed to stop Illinois schools from observing a moment of silence. A federal judge in Chicago says an Illinois Silent Reflection and Student Prayer Act is unconstitutional. The ACLU claims it is an attempt to get religion into public schools. Supporters say it doesn't force religion on anyone. It’s uncertain whether there will be an appeal.
