Church Closing for One Month

The First Unitarian Church in downtown Portland is closing for a month to save money. The 1500 member church will shut its doors during July. The 35 employees on staff have decided to give up two additional weeks of pay. The church is expected to end the fiscal year $185,000 in debt.
