Mark Rutland may become the next Oral Roberts University president. The school’s Presidential Search Committee is recommending him for the post. Right now, Rutland is president of Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida. He’ll visit the campus before the end of the month and then the Trustees will vote on whether to ask him to take the position. Radio listeners know him from his 30-minute daily radio program, Herald of Joy. The Texas native attended Emory University and earned his doctorate from the California Graduate School of Theology. More on Rutland.
Meanwhile, the school laid off 53 people this week in a belt tightening move. More on the layoffs.
