The fastest-selling Playmobil figure of all time--is a small figurine of Martin Luther. Playmobil says the first edition sold out in less than 72 hours. The German toy manufacturer has it Malta factory is furiously working to meet the demands of the little Luthers. Read more here.

CCM mag launches Kickstarter
CCM (Contemporary Christian Music) moved from print to digital subscriptions but is hoping to resurrect its print version. Salem Communications, which owns the magazine, has started a Kickstarter campaign with the goal of raising $40,000. Read more here.

Bible Society leader dismissed
The president of the American Bible Society was let go after just a few months on the job. It's not clear what brought about Doug Birdsall's dismissal. The board only mentioned differences in how to reach the ABS's goals. Birdsall went through lung cancer surgery this summer. Read more about the situation at Christianity Today here.

InterVarsity sued for Firing woman over Divorce
A former InterVarsity Christian Fellowship worker is suing the Michigan nonprofit for firing her. Alyce Conlon says she was let go because of her marriage fall apart--even though men were allowed to remain at IVCF despite getting divorces and remarrying. Conlon worked at InterVarsity for 25 years.

Applebee's Waitress Fired
We told you about the receipt left for an Applebee’s waitress by a pastor on which she wrote “I give God 10%, why should you get 18.” The waitress, Chelsea, posted a photo of it on Reddit. But now the Applebee's in St. Louis has fired Chelsea. HuffPost Comedy has started a petition with hopes of convincing Applebee's to rehire Chelsea.

Tyndale Gets Contraceptive Reprieve
A judge is stopping, at least temporarily, efforts to force a Christian publisher from providing its employees with contraceptives such as Plan B and intrauterine devices under the new health-care law. The judge gave Tyndale House the preliminary injunction it requested. The company equates these contraceptive methods with abortion. Tyndale sued the Department of Health and Human Services last month, saying the order violates their religious beliefs. The parties will meet in court to make arguments in the case on a yet to be determined date.

Prof Makes Accusations against Theology School
A professor says his theology school is inflating grades. Jamal-Dominique Hopkins is accusing the Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta of changing 10 grades of his 54 students last semester. It's just one of the complaints he made in an EEOC filing last month, after he was fired. Hopkins says the issues stem from his faith as an Evangelical. His dismissal followed a prayer meeting where he shared a book that opposes a gay lifestyle. The Interdenominational Theological Center is an organization representing eight seminaries in the Atlanta area. The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools gave the Center a warning last year for not meeting some of its academic standards.

Tebow looks to stop Jesus T-shirt maker
Tim Tebow has told a t-shirt manufacturer to stop using his name in promotion of a t-shirt. CubbyTees.com is selling the shirt that says My Jesus on the front in the style of the Jets logo. A fish is used instead of a football. Among other things, the ad says the New York Jets quarterback is “not just looking to cure lepers, but heal Gang Green! This shirt should fit Tebow followers to a tee.”

Fired for Bible & Prayer
A Christian doctor in the UK has lost his unfair dismissal claim. David Drew was fired by Walsall Manor Hospital in the suburb of Birmingham from his position as clinical director after quoting from the Bible and emailing a prayer by 16th century Jesuit founder St Ignatius Loyola, to motivate his department. He wrote to colleagues: "I find this a personal inspiration in my frail imperfect efforts to serve my patients, their families and our department." Drew plans an appeal because he says the ruling tells people they can no longer say "I am a Christian" at work.

Layoffs at Denomination's Headquarters
The Assemblies of God headquarters is laying off 47 employees. Church officials say the move is a result of switching from a print to a digital focus. Most of the people losing their jobs work at the Gospel Publishing House which prints Sunday School materials, books and a weekly magazine. Church officials say more downsizing could be ahead.
